William Dawes began working in residential mortgage lending in 2001 and joined Fairway Independent Mortgage Corporation in 2008. From the Salem, Ohio branch, William and his team have helped more than 3,000 families finance homes throughout Northeast Ohio.
His approach is built around helping homebuyers make informed decisions without expecting them to understand the entire mortgage process at once. That means providing clear guidance about what matters now, what can wait, what may change, and what comes next—supported by a team that makes the experience dependable.
William has received national production recognition from Scotsman Guide, was named a 2024 Industry Titan, and holds the Military Mortgage Specialist and Certified Military Home Specialist designations. Outside the mortgage business, he is active in coaching, community service, and local organizations. William and his wife, Abbey, live in the Salem area and are raising three children.

Abbey Dawes joined Fairway in 2014 and brings experience in both mortgage lending and marketing to Team Dawes. A graduate of Kent State University with a degree in Marketing, she helps borrowers understand qualification requirements and available financing options while also supporting the team’s marketing, growth, and online reputation.
Abbey’s combination of mortgage knowledge and communication experience helps ensure that borrowers receive clear information and that the team’s work consistently reflects the experience it intends to provide.
Misty Baclawski

Misty Baclawski joined Fairway in 2015 and serves as one of the first points of contact for many Team Dawes clients. She assists borrowers with initial questions, application information, credit and document review, and preparation for preapproval.
Her experience helps borrowers understand what information is needed, what deserves their attention, and what comes next. Misty’s patience, responsiveness, and attention to detail help create a clear and supportive experience from the beginning of the mortgage process.
